Lucas ruled out for the season

The worst fears of Liverpool football club and its supporters have been confirmed with the news that Brazilian midfielder Lucas’ injury will rule him out for the remainder of the season. Lucas damaged the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during the Carling Cup clash with Chelsea.

Lucas himself reacted to the news through Twitter telling his followers that: “I am really sad with the news because I was enjoying a lot on the pitch.” As well as adding: “I am sure I will come back stronger I will achieve everything that I dream with the LFC shirt.”

BBC Sport report that Lucas will undergo surgery before seeing out a long spell on the sidelines while he rehabilitates, which is a big blow to Liverpool as the Brazilian had started all but one of their Premier League games this term and had been in brilliant form.
