Man City get tough trip to Portugal in Europa draw

Manchester City have been drawn against Porto in the Europa League last 32 draw, uefa.com reports.

City narrowly missed out on qualification from the Champions League knockout phases and have now been drawn to the Portuguese giants. Roberto Mancini’s men are fighting for the league, cup and now in Europe and face a difficult task against last season’s winners. Porto won last year’s competition 1-0 against fellow Portuguese side FC Braga and will be no slouches against City.

Mancini’s men were knocked out in the quarter finals of the competition last season by Dynamo Kiev and will be looking to win a European trophy. Their rivals for the title, Manchester United, are also in the competition and City fans will be eager to progress further in the competition than United.

The ties for the Europa League will be played in late February. City face Porto in the Estadio do Dragao first, before making the return trip to Eastlands a week later. City face a difficult task against Porto, who narrowly missed out on qualification to the Champions League knockout phases also.
