Man Utd on alert as Inter set to sell Sneijder

Inter Milan have alerted Manchester United by planning to sell midfielder Wesley Sneijder to rebuild their squad, according to The Daily Mail.

Sneijder has long been a target of Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford and United tried to land the Dutchman in the summer. Inter refused to accept the offer and following the summer window, Sneijder revealed that he was interested in a move to United. Inter have been poor in Serie A so far this season and are looking to make money from Sneijder to rebuild their squad.

The 27 year old could add the creativity in the United midfield that has been missing so far this season. United have not performed well, but are still level on points with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League. The signing of Sneijder could send United on to the next level and if Inter are keen to sell, United are the frontrunners for the Dutch international. Sneijder will have to take a pay cut from his £200,000 a week wages at Inter, but could be happy to cut down for a move to United, where he should play Champions League football next season and challenge for the title.

United’s midfield have been ripped with injuries to Anderson and Tom Cleverley, the summer retirement of Paul Scholes and Darren Fletcher’s bowel disorder causing him to take an extended break from football. Sneijder would be a magnificent signing for the Red Devils and United fans are eager for United to sign the Dutch international.
