Man Utd youngster Morrison close to Reds exit

Manchester United youngster Ravel Morrison is in a fight to save his Old Trafford career, according to The Sunday Mirror.

Morrison is regarded as one of the brightest young footballers to come out of the United academy and has been tipped for first-team stardom. The 18 year old’s contract runs out in the summer and United have yet to open talks over a new deal with the club. In the midweek fixture with Crystal Palace, Morrison made his second senior appearance and showed glimpses of the promise he holds. However, his off-field problems have been highlighted as the main reason why United are not committing to signing him.

The 18 year old escaped a custodial sentence over intimidating a witness and has pleaded guilty to criminal damage, enfuriating United chiefs. Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson has stood by Morrison and insisted that if he can knuckle down and stop running into trouble with the law, a contract would be signed.

Morrison has been likened to current United forward Wayne Rooney in his ability to link up play, create assists and score goals.
