Roberto Mancini insists that his Manchester City side can bounce back from the loss of their unbeaten record, ESPN
City succumbed to a 2-1 defeat against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday night and lost left-back Gael Clichy to a red card in the process. City now face an in-form Arsenal side who will be looking to fire themselves back into the title charge. Mancini is confident in his side’s ability and believes they can get back on winning terms.
The Italian said: ‘I think that at these moments, we should be strong. After one defeat, we can improve – we know what we can do. We have never had a problem bouncing back after a defeat, and I am sure we will do it again. We play Arsenal on Sunday and at the moment Arsenal are playing very well. It will be difficult but we need to start again. What is important is that we start to win again’.
Mancini’s sentiments were echoed by captain Vincent Kompany, who claims that the loss at Stamford Bridge has brought the side together. City still hold a two point lead over second placed Manchester United in the table, but they could be second by the time they play Arsenal in the late kick-off on Sunday.
