Mancini wants more from Man City side

In the aftermath of their first domestic goalless draw this season, Roberto Mancini says his team need to both speed and sharpen up in front in goal, the Manchester Evening News report.

The Italian added it is not just teams visiting the Eithad Stadium who will defend in numbers so the only way to undo such an approach is to play quick, crisp accurate passing.

Mancini explained: “Every team has its plan, but in the first half, (against West Brom), we had three or four chances to score and maybe we were too slow in ball possession.”

He continued: “We should maybe be quicker. In the second half we also had a chance but in the end they had players behind the ball. It was difficult on Monday and it will be difficult in the next game because we play against teams who get players behind the ball.”
