Markovic admits interest in Chelsea move

Lazar Markovic is eager to complete a ‘dream’ move to Chelsea in the January transfer window, according to The Sun.

The 17 year old plays for Partizan Belgrade and has been pursued by clubs from Italy and Germany as well as Chelsea’s Premier League rivals Liverpool. The £10m rated forward has spoken of his dream to play for the Blues and is hoping that a deal can be completed sooner rather than later: ‘I really hope I can go to Chelsea, it’s my dream. I’m told there were 20 scouts from all over Europe in the VIP box when we beat Red Star (Belgrade). But Chelsea is the place I want to play. I had pictures of the team on my wall at home back to when they had Gianfranco Zola. And any time they are on TV, I try to watch them. For me, Chelsea is the best.’

Partizan are keen to sell their prospect and with Markovic’s open admission about Chelsea and his desire to play in the Premier League, the Blues are expected to make an offer soon. Markovic has scored six times in 13 league games so far this season and Chelsea are looking to bring in another youthful striker to follow the summer signing of Belgian Romelu Lukaku. Chelsea strikers Nicolas Anelka and Salomon Kalou are expected to leave in January to make room for Markovic.
