Roberto Mancini is confident that defender Micah Richards will be back from injury to face Arsenal on Sunday, ESPN
City have a number of defensive problems with Aleksandar Kolarov still injured and Gael Clichy suspended following his red card against Chelsea. The left back problems could have meant a rare start for Wayne Bridge, but if Richards returns, Mancini is expected to move Pablo Zabaleta across to left back. The league leaders were beaten 2-1 at Stamford Bridge on Monday night, but Mancini is unconcerned with that defeat and believes his side will beat Arsenal if they continue to play the same way.
The Manchester City boss said: ‘I think Micah will be OK for Sunday. Then we have Pablo, who can play on the left. After 15 games we are on the top with two more points than (Manchester) United. The season is long. We have said that before. We are strong enough to start winning again and one result doesn’t change anything. We know if we want to win, we should continue to play well, like we did at Chelsea’, Mancini added.
