AC Milan believe they are closing in on the signing of Manchester City’s want-away striker Carlos Tevez, according to The
City are looking for a permanent deal to remove the troublesome Tevez in January, but Milan have publicly declared that they will only take him on a free loan with the right to buy him at the end of the season. Insiders at the Serie A champions believe that City will take £2.6m for Tevez to move until the end of the season.
Tevez has yet to return to England after being summoned by City two weeks ago. The Argentinian has lost the respect of his fans, players and manager Roberto Mancini and looks set to leave the club either in January or in the summer. City are hoping that other big clubs can show interest in a permanent deal for Tevez, but Italian giants Juventus and Inter Milan are reluctant to enter negotiations over a move.
Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala are the outside bet to take Tevez away from City and they could easily afford the transfer fee and the wages. Milan are confident that the 27 year old will have more interest in a move to Italy with boss Massimiliano Allegri backing a pursuit of Tevez.
