New Tottenham deals for Livermore and Carroll

Tottenham have announced new deals for young players Jake Livermore and Tom Carroll until 2016, tottenhamhotspur.com reports.

Livermore has established himself in the first team and has appeared in 18 of the 21 games Spurs have played in all competitions this season. The midfielder scored his first goal for Spurs in the 5-0 Europa League win over Scottish side Hearts. Livermore faces a tough task to displace Scott Parker and Luka Modric from the centre of the Spurs midfield, but the club have confidence that he will do a fantastic job in the future.

Carroll earned a call-cup to the England under 21s last month and impressed on a loan spell at Leyton Orient last season. The midfielder has turned into a promising young talent at White Hart Lane and has made several first team appearances for the club in the Europa League. Spurs boss Harry Redknapp will be delighted that two of his brightest young talents have committed their future to the football club. The North Londoners travel to Stoke on Sunday and currently sit in third position, two points behind second place Manchester United. However, Spurs hold a game in hand on the rest and if they continue their fine form, they could jump to second.
