Redknapp insists Swansea win a must to keep Tottenham title hopes alive

Harry Redknapp admits that if Tottenham want to win the Premier League this season, they must win at places like Swansea City, The Guardian reports.

Spurs have not won the league title since 1961, but have been in blistering form so far this season and currently sit in third place. Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has hailed the way the North Londoners are playing and has considered them real title challengers. Spurs boss Redknapp has tried to play down the ambitions of winning the league, but believes that his side are in with a chance of challenging for the title.

Redknapp takes his side to the Liberty Stadium this weekend and must win to keep pace with the two Manchester clubs at the top of the table. Spurs won away at Norwich last weekend and have to keep their form heading into the New Year.

The Tottenham manager said: ‘Swansea have done brilliantly, but this is a game we have to win. It is not easy. But we have been to all these kind of places this year, we have been to Blackburn, Wigan, Wolves, Norwich and won – the only slip we had was Stoke. Look at our record of winning games away and you look at Tottenham and think they are tough games, but we have won. And that is what we have to do on Saturday’.
