Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing up Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul as a long term replacement to veteran Brad Friedel, Metro
Krul has been in superb form this season and has helped the Magpies to punch above their weight among the big guns at the top of the table.
While Friedel has also been performing well so far, the American is now 40 years old and may need to be replaced sooner rather than later.
It is believed that Harry Redknapp sees 23-year-old Krul as the ideal replacement and could make a move to sign him as early as next month.
However, it is likely that he will have to offload at least one other goalkeeper first, with both Heurelho Gomes and Carlo Cudicini already waiting in reserve.
