Wojciech Szczesny has guaranteed that by the end of the season, Arsenal will be the dominant team in North London, the Mirror
The Polish goalkeeper has taunted rivals Tottenham by stating that Harry Redknapp’s side can not keep up their current form. Arsenal have now lost five so far this season and are fifth in the table, five points adrift of Spurs. Tottenham also have a game in hand and have won 11 out of 13 fixtures, including a 2-1 win over Arsenal at White Hart Lane. Szczesny still has the utmost confidence in his team and believes they will be singing loudest at the end of the season.
Szczesny said: ‘Not getting above Tottenham isn’t even something we can think about. It’s not in our vocabulary. We don’t want to finish below Tottenham, no matter what. That’s the mentality here and that’s also just my personal ambition to do that. I’ve seen them winning, but I know they will start losing soon.’
The Arsenal goalkeeper has been in good form so far this season and has cemented his place as number one in the Emirates Stadium net. Szczesny believes that his side can crawl back into the title race also, despite being 12 points adrift of Premier League leaders Manchester City. Spurs will have other ideas and play Thursday looking to beat City, something Arsenal did not do this weekend.
