Tottenham given injury boost over Lennon

Tottenham Hotspur have been boosted by the news that Aaron Lennon’s injury is not as bad as first feared, and the winger should return to action in 2-3 weeks, according to Goal.com.

It was originally believed that Lennon’s hamstring injury sustained against Sunderland would keep him out for a minimum of six weeks.

However, scans have revealed that he could return in less than half that time and may only miss four games in the process.

Meanwhile, Harry Redknapp is set for more good news, with Gareth Bale and Jermain Defoe both having an outside chance of being fit for Thursday’s game against Chelsea.

Bale missed the Sunderland game with a twisted ankle but could be given painkilling injections in a bid to play, while Defoe is attempting to fight off a niggling hamstring problem.
