Tottenham are eyeing January swoops for Sporting Lisbon’s Joao Pereira and Ajax captain Jan Vertonghen, according to The
Spurs are keen to strengthen their squad to compete at the top of the Premier League table and get back into the Champions League. Boss Harry Redknapp will face competition from European champions Barcelona for Pereira’s signature. The Portuguese international has impressed Spurs scouts with his ability to play in either defence or midfield.
Vertonghen could also be available for Redknapp in a £10.3m deal. The Belgian international is almost certain to leave in the January transfer window after some impressive performances for Ajax and Spurs could be his top destination. Ajax manager Frank de Boer is said to be resigned to losing his skipper and Redknapp is keen to shore up a defence stricken with injury.
Redknapp may also swoop for Fulham playmaker Moussa Dembele. The 24 year old Belgian has been a revelation since his arrival at Craven Cottage and the Spurs boss may look to strengthen his squad further with the addition of Dembele.
