Luka Modric is to be offered a new deal at White Hart Lane to ward off interest from Chelsea and Manchester United, according to Metro.
United are looking for a big move in January and will tempt Modric with an offer to move to Old Trafford. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy faces a big task to keep Modric happy and stop any interest from Chelsea and the Premier League champions. Harry Redknapp wants Modric in his midfield for the second half of the season and has urged the Croatian to sign a new deal with the club.
The current offer on the table will see Modric earn £100,000 a week, but Chelsea and United can offer the Croatian more money. Spurs have a tight wage structure and Modric will have to adhere to what Spurs offer him, not the other way around. A likely move is to Old Trafford and if United continue to improve and keep pace with Manchester City at the top of the table, Modric may be interested in a switch.
