Townsend could be set for Spurs exit after bust-up

Tottenham winger Andros Townsend could be sold in the January transfer window after a training ground bust up, according to Metro.

The 20 year old is considered a bright prospect at the club, but was ordered off the training field following a bust-up with a teammate. Townsend did as he was told, but kicked a bin as he was leaving and stormed off. That incident leaves his Spurs future in jeopardy and could end his 12 year allegiance with the North Londoners.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is a fan of Townsend, but is unhappy with his actions. Townsend has been on the fringes of the first team squad so far this season following successful loan spells at Millwall and Leyton Orient. The 20 year old is a lifelong Spurs fan and is said to be apologetic towards what he has done. Townsend has made first-team appearances this season and is tipped as one of the great young prospects at the club.

A whole host of Championship clubs are now interested in Townsend, who could leave in the January transfer window. The fleet-footed winger could be available on a permanent basis, but Redknapp is a huge admirer of the 20 year old and a loan move seems more reasonable. Townsend will have to mature and curb his attitude if he wants a chance of getting into the Spurs first-team under Redknapp’s management.
