Andros Townsend has signed a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur that will keep him at the club until 2016, report Sky
Townsend, 20, is a product of Spurs’ academy, and the winger has shown promising ability in progressing through the ranks. The club said: “Andros, who has also previously enjoyed loan spells with Millwall, MK Dons, Leyton Orient and Yeovil, has made a total of eight appearances so far for the club, and also scored during his most recent appearance during our 4-0 win at Shamrock Rovers in the Europa League.”
With Spurs now out of European competition, there is speculation that Townsend could be sent out on loan again in the second half of the season to gain further experience. Harry Redknapp has previously hinted that he will look to farm out players on the fringe of the first team squad when the January transfer window rolls around.
