Tottenham’s Rafael van der Vaart looks likely to be sidelined until the New Year after picking up a hamstring injury against Chelsea on Thursday, according to BBC
The 28-year-old Dutch midfielder was substituted at half-time, and when Redknapp was asked after the match if he had picked up an injury, he replied: “Yes, it looks that way. He just seems to have a hamstring problem all the time. He’s a great player but we need to keep him fit.”
Winger Aaron Lennon is also out for at least three weeks with a hamstring injury, leaving Spurs light on the right hand side of midfield. “We have got no-one who could play wide right to give us the balance we needed,” Redknapp said. “We haven’t really got a wide right player.”
