Wenger admits he would buy Neymar if he had the money

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that he would love to bring Brazilian striker Neymar to the Emirates Stadium, according to Metro.

Wenger has revealed that if he had the board’s support then he would compete with Barcelona and Real Madrid in signing the Santos starlet whom football legend Pele has described as “a more complete player than Lionel Messi.”

Wenger said: “If I had the money, I’d put it on Neymar. You can’t say that Neymar is Pele as he had won the World Cup by the age of 17. He has the potential to be one of the future great strikers but at the moment there’s a big difference between the Brazilian league and a European league.”

Real Madrid are favourites to sign the 19-year-old but Barcelona have also declared an interest in the youngster who could feature against them in the FIFA Club World Cup which begins on Thursday December 8.
