Wenger admits to Henry possibility

Arsene Wenger refused to rule out the possibility of Thierry Henry returning to Arsenal in the January transfer window, The Telegraph reports.

Henry currently plays for MLS side New York Red Bulls, but with the American season over, the French striker has the possibility of moving on loan to another club. LA Galaxy striker Landon Donovan has moved on loan to Everton and Henry could make a move back to the Premier League with Arsenal.

Arsenal coaches have been impressed with Henry’s level of fitness when he has trained at London Colney and have recommended a move to Wenger. The Gunners will lose Maraoune Chamakh and Gervinho for the African Cup of Nations and Henry could be an option as a short-term replacement. Wenger was asked about Henry in yesterday’s press conference and he emphatically stated that although the Arsenal legend was good enough to play in the Premier League still, they have not explored the option of a loan move.

Wenger said when asked over Henry’s loan move: ‘I haven’t even investigated that. I cannot tell you even if there is a chance because I haven’t even made any approach, not to him nor his club. I do not always master all my thoughts so it has to come through my brain at some stage but I haven’t been concrete on the case.’
