Wenger insists on no signings in January transfer window

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is unlikely to sign any players in the January transfer window, The Daily Telegraph reports. Strikers Maraoune Chamakh and Gervinho will depart for the African Cup of Nations in the New Year and despite that possibility of being short on strikers, the Gunners boss is happy with his squad.

Wenger believes he has enough cover up front unless they suffer an injury and he may have to rethink his philosophy. Wenger said: ‘At the moment, I will do nothing in January. I have a big squad, but if you knock at my door and say “I have a fantastic player for you”, I will not turn it down. If we have no injuries, we should get away with it. We still have offensive players, but we could be a bit short if we have an injury.’

The Frenchman has Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ju-Young Park, Robin van Persie, Theo Walcott and Andrei Arshavin in his forward line and has no concerns over their abilities to score goals.
