Wenger sure of Arsenal Champions League qualification

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is convinced that his side has the capability to reach the Champions League for next season, The Metro reports.

After a sluggish start to the season, which saw them dismantled 8-2 by champions Manchester United, the Gunners have picked up the pace and charged back up the table. They have taken 19 points from a possible 21 and now sit in fifth position. Wenger believes that his team’s new found consistency will help them reach the top four, a place where Arsenal deserve to be.

Wenger said: ‘I’m confident we can achieve it. It looks at the moment that all the teams at the top are winning, so it is down to the teams who are the most consistent.’

The Gunners travel to Athens tomorrow to take on Olympiakos in their final group game of the Champions League and Wenger is looking for his side to get a win to maintain their unbeaten record in the competition so far. Arsenal should field a weakened side against the Greek giants, but the Frenchman is still hoping that the fringe players and youngsters can get a result.
