Young says Man Utd will attack against Basel

Ashley Young is adamant that Manchester United will go for broke in their do-or-die Champions League encounter against Basel, The Daily Mail reports.

The Premier League champions threw away a two-goal lead against Basel at Old Trafford and with their failure to overcome Benfica at home two weeks ago, United must avoid defeat if they are hoping to go through to the knockout phases. United boss Sir Alex Ferguson could go conservative in Switzerland and play for the draw, but Young believes that his side will go all out for victory.

A win could be bittersweet as United are sure-fire to finish in second position and could face heavyweight quartet Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich. Young is desperate to reach the next round and is hoping that United will do enough to get the win.

The summer signing from Aston Villa said: ‘It would be dangerous to think we only need a draw. No-one at this club has that mentality. We still have it in our hands to go there and qualify, which was the main target and we will be trying to win’.
