Tottenham are considering a move for out of favour Lazio striker Mauro Zarate, according to the Daily
Argentinian Zarate, 24, spent a period on loan in England with Birmingham City four years ago, scoring 4 goals in 14 appearances. This season, he has been on loan with Inter Milan, his only goal coming against CSKA Moscow in the Champions League. Now Redknapp believes he could be the answer to the striker shortage Spurs could face, if, as expected, Roman Pavlyuchenko departs this month.
Zarate’s agent, Barry McIntosh, said: “There is a lot of interest in Mauro. Spurs are amongst the clubs interested in bringing him back to England. He made a positive impact at Birmingham previously and his reputation has continued to grow.”
