Chelsea defender Alex has snubbed a move to Premier League side QPR and wants to join wealthy French outfit Paris Saint Germain, The
The Blues have yet to receive a firm offer from QPR for the Brazilian defender, but new Rangers boss Mark Hughes is keen to pay £3m. Alex asked to leave Stamford Bridge last month and was subsequently frozen out of the first-team by Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas and trained alone. The 29 year old was reportedly interested in a move across West London, but sources close to Alex say he has no intention of joining QPR and wants to move to PSG or go back to Brazil.
PSG have shown interest in the French defender and with former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti at the helm, a deal for Alex is possible. Chelsea are looking for a fair deal for the 29 year old and Villas-Boas has stated that he is not prepared to sell cheaply, just because Alex is transfer listed. PSG have the funds to match Chelsea’s valuation and have emerged as frontrunners ahead of Alex’s former side Santos, who are interested.
Villas-Boas said: ‘We have respected Alex’s transfer request, so the market’s open for him. We’re just trying to reach the level of proposal we think is good for the player. We have to wait and see if anything happens. Nothing has happened up to now, but we’ll listen to all offers’.
