Chelsea to investigate supporters alleged racism

Following Chelsea’s draw against Norwich at Carrow Road on Saturday, the club’s supporters have been accused of racist chanting when travelling on the train back from Norfolk. A statement released by the club read: “We are working to help the relevant authorities identify those responsible.”

The statement went onto declare the club’s on going stance against racism: “We will take the strongest possible action should these allegations prove to be true. The club strongly believe all forms of discrimination are abhorrent and have absolutely no place in society.”

It is not the first time this season the Chelsea fans have been involved in racial controversy after they appeared to be singing about Anton Ferdinand during a Champions League encounter with Genk, following his claims of being racially abused by Blues captain John Terry.
