Dalglish happy with Carroll efforts

Despite Andy Carroll’s continued spell of bad form in front of goal this season, his manager Kenny Dalglish has praised the club’s record signing for his endeavour, claiming he is pleased with the striker’s work rate. It is the Scottish manager’s belief that Carroll’s efforts are part of a commitment to his team, and that it should receive more plaudits.

Speaking after Wednesday’s victory at Manchester City, Dalglish told the Independent: “Andy worked fantastically hard for us and sacrificed himself for the sake of the team. If our players continue to work as hard as he did last night – every one of them – then if we want to move in the right direction that will be a great start for us.”

With suspended teammate Luis Suarez ruled out for another five matches, Carroll will get his chance to prove himself worthy of a spot on Dalglish’s starting 11.
