Everton could be ready to offer Manchester United midfielder Darron Gibson a way out of Old Trafford, according to the Manchester
The Republic of Ireland international was close to joining Sunderland in the summer, but a deal broke down over personal terms. Gibson has been left on the fringes of United’s squad all season by Sir Alex Ferguson and the 24 year old is looking for a way out. The 24 year old sees Everton as a good opportunity and Toffees boss David Moyes is keen to sign Gibson.
Gibson has also faced a fresh bust-up with the United boss after going out following the Boxing Day win over Wigan. The United midfielder joined Wayne Rooney and Jonny Evans that evening and all three players were dropped for the New Year’s Eve loss to Wigan. Gibson’s future could depend on Ferguson’s ability to sign players in the January transfer window.
The United boss is without Tom Cleverley and Darren Fletcher in midfield, while Anderson has just returned from a knee injury. Everton could be keen to sign Gibson on a cut-price deal in January and United’s good relationship with Moyes could see the deal go through. The Toffees have signed Louis Saha, Phil Neville and Tim Howard under Moyes from Old Trafford.
