Ferdinand urged to shake hands with Terry

This weekend sees the fourth round of the FA Cup being contested, and as it so often does the competition has provided us with a game that has background and controversy in good measure as Chelsea take on Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road on Saturday afternoon.

The last time the two teams met in November Blues captain John Terry was accused by Anton Ferdinand of racially abusing him in the Hoops 1-0 victory. With Ferdinand pressing charges against his Chelsea counterpart, Terry is set to face criminal prosecution for his alleged behaviour, but that is not until after the pair face each other on the pitch this weekend.

According to the Daily Mail Ferdinand has been asked by the club to oblige with customary pre-match handshake with Terry but he is set to snub the offer. The PFA have already tried to resolve the issue between the two but Ferdinand was apparently uninterested in coming to any agreement.
