Henry trys to dampen expectation after Leeds winner

Thierry Henry has warned Arsenal fans not to expect the same performance every week as his match-winning goal against Leeds in the FA Cup, arsenal.com reports.

The Gunners striker made his return to the club and scored the winner with 12 minutes to go, sending Arsenal through to the fourth round. Henry signed a two month loan deal from MLS side New York Red Bulls last Friday and came on with 22 minutes remaining at the Emirates Stadium. The Frenchman admits that although he was delighted to make such an immediate impact, Arsenal fans should not anticipate a consistent stream of goals.

Henry said: ‘I know I scored, but that is not going to happen every time I play. I don’t know if my runs were intelligent or not, but that’s the way I play. I am going to try to bring what I can. Maybe another time it won’t be enough, but I will always try my best’.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was delighted with the goal and Henry celebrated with his manager, although he did not plan the celebration. Henry added that he will be there whenever Wenger needs him during the spell and the 34 year old will help around the dressing room.
