Jose Enrique backs Dalglish Liverpool style

Jose Enrique believes the freedom Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish gives to the players allows for the Reds to become a better team, The Daily Mail reports.

The Spaniard has been arguably Kenny Dalglish’s best summer recruit since joining for £6m from Newcastle, playing every minute in the league this season. Enrique has rewarded the faith of the Liverpool boss by pulling out consistent performance after consistent performance, making himself a fans’ favourite already. The 25 year old believes that the Liverpool way suits his style of play, along with many others in the Liverpool squad.

Enrique said: ‘I prefer to pass to feet. It is more quick touch. Kenny wants us to enjoy football, because if we enjoy it, then so will the crowd. This is very important that we play in a certain way. Because we train so hard, it can make the game a lot easier. That is the moment you work towards every week because it is the past you enjoy most; the pitch is bigger, you play in front of a crowd and you are judged on the result’.

Liverpool face Manchester City in the first leg of the Carling Cup semi-final tonight and that comes only a week since they left the Etihad Stadium with a 3-0 defeat. Enrique believes his side have the quality to cause an upset against the Premier League leaders and progress to their first appearance at the new Wembley.
