Koscielny insists Henry ready for Premier League

Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny believes that Thierry Henry has the quality to play in the Premier League still and that he trains like a 20 year old, The Daily Mail reports.

The Gunners all-time leading goal scorer added another to his tally with the winner in the FA Cup fourth round tie against Leeds on Monday night. Henry has warned fans that he is not capable of scoring goals for fun like he used to in his first spell at Arsenal, but believes he can still play a part. MLS side New York Red Bulls have loaned Henry to Arsenal for two months whilst their season is on a break and Henry is expected to return in mid-February.

Koscielny believes that the experience of the 34 year old will be hugely beneficial to the young Arsenal squad. Henry had impressed Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger whilst training with the Gunners and Koscielny has backed Wenger’s claims that the Frenchman has a superb fitness level.

The Gunners defender said: ‘He is leading by example, we saw it on Monday night. At training, he runs everywhere. It’s like he is 20 years old. It’s thanks to players like him that we all improve. He is one of the greatest players to have played football and the squad needs to look up to him in the next two months to improve. He wants to score, to help the team and to improve’.
