Liverpool defender makes Blackpool loan move

Liverpool defender Danny Wilson has joined Championship side Blackpool on loan until the end of the season, The Daily Mail reports.

The 20 year has struggled for first team opportunities since his £2m move from Rangers in July 2010. Wilson has featured just once for Liverpool so far this season and will join Ian Holloway’s side to help their push for a return to the Premier League. Blackpool have already used Liverpool for their loan signings with midfielder Jonjo Shelvey spending a successful two months at Bloomfield Road.

Reds boss Kenny Dalglish can recall Wilson to the club, if he is needed, but the Scotland international will be hoping to stay at Blackpool and play regular football. Dalglish has improved his defence in the summer and their fantastic defensive record has meant no room for Wilson to showcase his talents. The 20 year old will be available for Blackpool’s league game at home to Middlesbrough on Monday.

Wilson has only made nine first team appearances since his move to Anfield and is looking to make the deal permanent with the Seasiders, if the loan move goes well. The 20 year old has been cleared to play in the FA Cup tie with Fleetwood Town.
