Mancini concerned by lack of funds

According to Mirror Football, Roberto Mancini is concerned that Man City’s title challenge is at risk due to a lack of January transfer funds.

The Italian continues to pursue Roma’s Daniele De Rossi but also says he wants a forward and a defender, and believes his current squad does not offer him enough depth to sustain their Premier League challenge.

A club insider commented: “Mancini is unhappy that the club are saying they can’t, or won’t, back him in the market this month.

“He understands that FFP (Financial Fair Play) is already having an impact, but he feels that after investing so many resources to get to the top of the league, the challenge could be undermined by the reluctance to bring in one or two more players.”
