Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric insists that his club have a positive look towards their weekend fixture with Manchester City, Sky
Spurs sit in third place and travel to the Etihad Stadium looking for a win that will draw them closer to the Premier League leaders. Two seasons ago, Peter Crouch’s goal away at City put Tottenham in the Champions League and Modric believes his side can do the same again. The Croatian has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane, but Modric is focused on getting three points from City, despite their 100% home record in the league.
Modric said: ‘The last two seasons, we have played massive games there and this will be another one. I hope we will do well and maybe win, why not? We are going there with a positive mindset and we will try to win the game. We try to do that against every opponent. I think we are that good that we can go there and win.’
Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott has dismissed Spurs’ title change this week and claims that Manchester United are the main rivals. Modric and his teammates will aim to upset the odds by getting a huge win at the Etihad Stadium, which will put them firmly in title contention.
