Race for Tottenham midfielder Dos Santos heats up

Villarreal and Wigan have joined Bolton in the competition for the signature of Tottenham’s Giovani dos Santos, according to The Daily Mail.

The want-away Mexican, 22, has fallen out of favour with Harry Redknapp as a result of his party-going lifestyle and disappointing performances. The appearances he has made this season have been mainly in the Europa League before Tottenham dropped out of the competition, though he also scored a goal in their 4th round FA Cup victory over Cheltenham. Spurs agreed a £13 million deal to take dos Santos to Udinese during last summer, but the attacking midfielder vetoed the move in the hope of securing a transfer to the Spanish League instead.

However, thus far all three clubs have fallen short of Daniel Levy’s valuation, thought to be around £8 million.
