Redknapp delighted with Tottenham victory as Spurs draw level with Man Utd

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp was delighted with the result and the performance as Spurs won 2-0 against Everton on Wednesday, tottenhamhotspur.com reports.

Goals from Aaron Lennon and Benoit Assou-Ekotto lifted Spurs up to joint-second in the Premier League and level on points with Manchester United. Spurs have been in great form this season and picked up another vital home win over Everton. Assou-Ekotto’s goal of real quality has made all the headlines, but Redknapp believes that Lennon’s goal was the real icebreaker against a tough side.

Redknapp said: ‘The first goal was all-important because Everton are always difficult to beat and dangerous on the break as well. They have good players, so we needed that goal and once we scored, we dominated the game. After that, we had plenty of possession and we played some fantastic football at times. It was a great win. You never get an easy game against Everton. The passing, the crispness of the passing and the movement off the ball was fantastic’.

Spurs also kept their eight clean sheet of the Premier League so far and for all the attacking plaudits Redknapp’s side receive, they are difficult to break down also. Tottenham now face Wolves on Saturday looking to keep the gap to league leaders Manchester City at three points.
