Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp will pick the team for the FA Cup fourth round trip to Watford on Friday night, despite his ongoing trial for tax evasion, The
Spurs eased past Cheltenham Town with an under-strength side in the third round and Redknapp is expected to keep a similar set of players against the Championship side on Friday. Assistants Kevin Bond and Joe Jordan have been taking over training whilst Redknapp has been in court and Bond confirmed that Redknapp would take over as usual. Redknapp faces two charges of cheating the Public Purse, but the Spurs assistant believes that it will be strictly football when the manager takes over against Watford.
Bond said: Harry will be at the game – and he will be picking the team, of course. It hasn’t had much effect this week. Obviously the manager has not been here but other than that there’s been very little different really. We had a similar situation a few weeks ago, when he had a small procedure and wasn’t with us ahead of the game at Fulham, but training carries on as normal and we’ve just got on with things. Harry’s spoken at the beginning and end of every day with myself and Joe Jordan, talking through how our day has gone. That’s been it.’
The Spurs assistant also confirmed that Gareth Bale, Scott Parker and Younes Kaboul are injury doubts and captain Ledley King is expected to be rested for the trip across London. Bale has a thigh problem, Parker has a hamstring worry and Kaboul has suffered a groin problem in training.
