Reina urges his teammates to concentrate on the weekend’s game with Bolton

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has told his teammates to forget their forthcoming cup fixtures with Manchester City and Manchester United and focus for Saturday’s game with Bolton, reports. The Reds are in need of three points to put them back in contention for a top four finish at the end of the season.

Reina and his teammates face a Carling Cup semi-final with City next Wednesday before an explosive game against United in the FA Cup fourth round at Anfield. With the events that surrounded the previous meeting at Anfield on October 15th, there will be Liverpool players who are eagerly anticipating the chance to play against United. The Spanish goalkeeper has urged the squad to focus on getting a much needed three points away at the Reebok Stadium and then focus on the games with the Manchester clubs.

The Reds number one said: ‘It definitely won’t be difficult to put those games to the back of our minds because the first game is Bolton and is therefore the most important of all three. It is an important game at Bolton. It is vital for us, we have to get some momentum going and keep winning games. It’s important not to lose – but it’s even bigger to win the games and get three points after three points.’

After drawing 0-0 with Stoke in their last league outing, Reina knows that his side must find some momentum to take them into the cup games. Liverpool have drawn seven times at Anfield this season, but have impressed on the road and beat Manchester City in their last away outing. The Spanish international has recognised their good away form and believes that the wins at home will come soon enough.
