Remy tells Tottenham he will not leave in January

Tottenham target Loic Remy has frustrated Harry Redknapp by insisting he is not interested in leaving Marseille before the end of the season.

Redknapp travelled to France on Sunday to watch Remy, 25, score twice against Lille, and Spurs were thought to be preparing a potential £12.5 million bid. Signs were initially receptive, with Remy’s agent claiming last week that the French striker would find a move to White Hart Lane hard to turn down.

However, after last night’s fixture, Remy cooled talk of a move away, telling Canal+: “I will 100% stay at Marseille until the end of the season, and maybe until the end of my contract. I have spoken to the President and staff and it would not be right for me to leave this club. We’ll see next summer but that’s not even in my head for now.”
