Szczesny apologies over Twitter comments

Wojciech Szczesny has been forced to apologise for overstepping the mark in a Twitter debate with Arsenal teammate Aaron Ramsey, The Daily Mail reports.

The 21 year old Polish international reacted to a picture posted by the Welshman, joking that Ramsey looked ‘like a rapist.’ Szczesny has now deleted the original tweet, which mocked the wearing of a tank top by Ramsey ahead of a round of golf. Ramsey took the comment in good jest, but Twitter users complained to the Polish goalkeeper about what he said.

Szczesny’s original words were: ‘I don’t wanna be rude mate, but you look like a rapist on that picture lol. Looking like a racist/pedofile (sic) isn’t a goof thing either’. Ramsey replied with: ‘Jealousy is not a good thing mate. I try my best mate, we’re not all blessed with a good fashion sense like you’.

Arsenal have warned their number one goalkeeper about his responsibilities whilst using the social media site. Plenty of footballers have got into trouble using the site and Szczesny has had to apologise wholeheartedly for any offence he may have caused.

Szczesny said: ‘I’m sorry if anyone was offended by my previous tweets. There are some thing (sic) we should not joke about and I have crossed the line. Sorry!’
