Tottenham extend Pavlyuchenko contract

Roman Pavlyuchenko claims that Tottenham have extended the Russian’s contract to 2013, despite looking to offload the striker in the January transfer window, according to his agent.

The 30-year-old has made just five appearances in the Premier League this season, but Oleg Artimov told Championat: “Tottenham had the option of extending his contract, and they have done so. They informed the English FA that they have extended the contract by a year – this happened two or three months ago, so this is already quite old news.”

The Daily Mail claims that the latest clubs to be offered the Russian’s services include Premiership duo Newcastle and Sunderland. Sunderland could look to Pavlyuchenko to act as back up for Nicklas Bendtner, currently out of action with an eye injury.
