Tottenham prepared to spend big in title push

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has promised that his side are ready to spend huge amounts of money to keep their title challenge alive, The Mirror reports.

Spurs can move within three points of league leaders Manchester City if they win their game in hand against Everton on Wednesday. Redknapp will play a weakened side against League Two opposition Cheltenham Town today, so that his players are fresh for their title charge. The Tottenham boss insists that he and chairman Daniel Levy are united in their determination to bring Spurs their first league title since 1961.

Redknapp said: ‘We’re in a great position. At least we’re in there. We’ve given ourselves every chance of having a great second half of the season. We’ve just got to keep it going and if we can get someone special, who could make a difference, we will go and do it. It’s not a case of trying to bring in someone as cover. If you are going to bring anyone in, you need someone who will go into the team straight away and improve it’.

Blackburn duo Christopher Samba and Junior Hoilett have both been linked with a move to White Hart Lane and Redknapp insists that whilst they are both good players, no approach has been made. Spurs are reportedly ready to pay £12m for the Blackburn stars and a deal could be completed with Rovers ready to sell.
