Van Persie delighted with Henry signing

Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has stated that he cannot wait to reunite with Thierry Henry and called the Frenchman ‘unbelievable’, arsenal.com reports.

Henry is not available for today’s game with Fulham at the Emirates Stadium, but will be watching on from the stands once again like he did against QPR last time out. The Frenchman makes a two month loan deal from MLS side New York Red Bulls permanent in the coming days. Henry is expected to play a part in big Premier League games against Tottenham and Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium, as well as the Champions League last 16 with AC Milan.

Current Arsenal captain Robin van Persie played with Henry during his last couple of seasons at Arsenal and knows the class the Frenchman has. Van Persie is on good goalscoring form at the moment, scoring 35 league goals in 2011, and is excited to reunite with Arsenal’s record goalscorer of all-time. The Dutchman also revealed that he asked Henry personally to make a short move back to the Emirates Stadium.

Van Persie said: ‘It is fantastic. For him to come back is something so brave. He has nothing to prove. He has a statue here. I asked him a couple of weeks ago to come back. He is unbelievable, even in training. I don’t want to put too much pressure on him, but he is looking right up there. It will be good for everyone. It is a massive joy to play and train with him. I am excited too.’
