Van Persie plans on Arsenal stay

Robin van Persie has dropped a strong hint that he plans to stay at Arsenal amid rumours of a move away from the Emirates Stadium, Sky Sports reports.

The Dutchman has yet to agree a new deal with the club and is entering the final 18 months of his current contract. Van Persie has been talismanic for the Gunners and scored 35 league goals for Arsenal in 2011. Manchester City and Barcelona are monitoring the current contract situation that Van Persie holds and are keen to make a move for the Arsenal captain.

Arsenal are hopeful of tying down Van Persie to a long-term deal, but the Dutchman was supposedly waiting until the summer to see if his side can reach the Champions League. Van Persie has now dropped a huge hint that he will stay in London, praising the life and people in the capital as well as his family being settled.

Van Persie said: ‘We love the life in London and I enjoy watching my kids grow up here. They grow up like the English kids with good manners and values of England. The place where we live, just outside the city, is fantastic. We have everything we want. The English people are so incredibly polite where I live. People are nice here. That makes life a real pleasure’.
