West Ham eye Kalou loan deal

West Ham are believed to be weighing up a highly ambitious attempt to lure Chelsea winger Salomon Kalou to Upton Park on a loan deal to boost their chances of promotion from the Championship, according to The Sun.

This is not the first somewhat unrealistic loan bid they’ve made this month having reportedly tried to bring in Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez.

Kalou has found it hard to break into the first team this season and has rarely been part of Andre Villas-Boas’ plans. There has been speculation linking Kalou with a move away from Stamford Bridge, with Arsenal said to be interested but it is unlikely Chelsea will want to sell to one of their domestic rivals and would prefer a move abroad for the Ivorian.

With West Ham being priced out of a bid for Rangers striker Nikica Jelavic, and Chelsea denying them permission to talk with Florent Malouda, Sam Allardyce is set to have a job on his hands persuading Kalou to drop down a division.
