Ba dismisses Newcastle departure talk

Demba Ba has voiced his enjoyment with life at Newcastle, indicating that he had no desire whatsoever to leave the club in the January transfer window, reports the Guardian.

The Senegal striker’s contract with the Magpies contains a release clause, which would allow him to discuss personal terms with a club offering £7m for his services. However Ba intimates his commitment to Newcastle hasn’t wavered amid significant media speculation that his future may lie away from the club.

“I never talked to anyone to say I wanted to leave. I was just listening to people saying, ‘he is going there or there’, and had a big smile on my face. It was funny to me. The most important thing is being happy with your football and I am happy here,” said Ba, who also confirmed his contentment on Tyneside has further increased following the arrival of his fellow Senegalese international Papiss Cisse.
