Tottenham winger Gareth Bale has spoken of his joy at the signing of striker Louis Saha and is looking forward to forging a good partnership, tottenhamhotspur.com
Saha made a fantastic start to life at White Hart Lane, scoring twice and laying on an assist for Emmanuel Adebayor as Tottenham beat Newcastle 5-0. The Frenchman was a surprise signing on deadline day and arrived from Everton on a free transfer. Bale spoke after the game against the Magpies and is happy with the way Saha has taken to life in North London. Spurs face Arsenal in the North London derby this weekend and Saha could be in line for another start.
Bale said: ‘He played fantastic. We all know what he’s capable of, we’ve played against him year after year. He’s always been a threat against us and to have him on our team now is a real boost. He’s a quality player, scored two goals and thoroughly deserved them. He’s shown in training already that he’s a world class player, he’s played at the highest level and we’re delighted to have him’.
Tottenham travel to the Emirates Stadium next weekend looking to replicate their victory against Arsenal at White Hart Lane earlier this season and Spurs fans would have been delighted with Arsenal’s poor performance in Milan. Spurs will fancy their chances and Saha could add to his tally at the Emirates Stadium against an Arsenal defence suffering with injuries.
