Chelsea interested in Jovetic

Chelsea are preparing a £21m bid for Fiorentina striker Stefan Jovetic after the Italian side revealed they could not resist a decent proposal for the striker, The Daily Mail reports.

The Italian club have claimed they rejected a £14m bid in the winter and would want more money for a player who just signed a five year deal. Jovetic has been in good form for the Italian side and the 22 year old is also being targeted by Arsenal as a potential signing.

Fiorentina team manager Vincenzo Guerini has admitted that a move for Jovetic would not be ruled out, if the other was good enough. The Blues are looking to increase their forward line after doubts over Daniel Sturridge’s future and Fernando Torres’ poor goalscoring form. Chelsea see the Montenegrin international as an ideal signing and Guerini is gearing himself for an offer from the Blues.

Guerini said: ‘Our intention is to build the team around him, but today the word untransferable doesn’t exist. If an indecent proposal were made, and it is possible that one will arrive, then we would take that into consideration. I’m sure that Jovetic will turn into a top player’.
